Did you know that world celebrates Quality every year?

Are you a Quality Professional seeking to raise the awareness for the Quality Profession?

Do you have a team of Quality professionals who would welcome the attention for just one day?

Then this is your chance! If you have not heard already, but the world celebrates Quality every year! And each year the theme is different. This year the theme is Trust!

Trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.

Are the Quality Professionals trusted to guide and consult leaders to govern, improve and assure the sustainability and delivery of a healthy organisation?

Deming, in his Deming’s 14 points for Management, discussed breaking down barriers (point 9) and permitting pride in workmanship (point 12). To cultivate an environment where processes and people work in an integrated fashion, Trust must be established, highlighted and nurtured (Toolshero.com, 2018)

On September 27th, the CQI London branch held a workshop to encourage Quality Professionals from different sectors to network and brain storm ideas to celebrate WQD18. The workshop was held at the head offices of the Chartered Quality Institute in central London. The workshop was hosted by Quality Professional Mark McNamara.

The workshop started with few quotes and observations made by Quality gurus on the importance of trust. Mark presented the topic in a simple fashion and took us back to our childhood and what parents would do if we broke their trust. But do our customers tell us what to do to regain their trust?

It was a brief and focused presentation for 15min followed by a 45min workshop. I sat on a table of four. Service industry, Construction, Rail signalling and Charity were the four different industries on the table.

The discussion was focused on 2 questions:

  • What can brands do to maintain trust?
  • How can we celebrate Trust in our workplace?

There were over 20 professionals who were able to bounce different ideas on what they can do to celebrate their teams and raise awareness on the Quality profession as a whole.

Ideas that can make a difference at ZERO budget!

Are you planning on celebrating World Quality Day this year? Do you have ideas you like to share? or do you want some inspiration?

Leave a comment below or get in touch and I will be happy to assist!

Note:
The Chartered Quality Institute has released a toolkit that would give you ideas and guidelines for the day. You can access the toolkit here.
